FoodFit is now in the midst of its second 12 week round full of learning, walking, cooking, and fun! FoodFit participants have delved into some great topics over the past few months including healthy protein sources, easy breakfast solutions, whole grains, and simple salads. Through these topics the group has explored new knowledge, experimented with healthy recipes, and created friendships through walking, talking, and eating together.
FoodFit is a 12-week program for low-income community members who experience barriers around healthy eating and physical activity but who are motivated to make lasting changes to their health. The program combines fun, hands-on cooking sessions and food-based activities with take-home recipes, easy-to-understand nutrition information, group exercise, shared meals, self-directed individual and group goal-setting, and reflection and feedback loops that monitor and reinforce individual and group progress.
This program will be running until May 2019, so there is plenty of opportunity for all to take part in a FoodFit journey!
