The Fern and Feather Studio and Gardens

The Fern and Feather Studio and Gardens features a colourful market garden, food forest, wildlife water feature, and several edible display gardens, all surrounded by a beautiful woodland forest in scenic Yellow Point. Visit the funky art studio, and stroll through the shady forest trails filled with edible native plants. The gardens are an excellent example of sustainable and natural gardening methods, and are the location of an exciting variety of gardening workshops throughout the year!

photo (6)
The Fern and Feather is home to Priscilla and Derrick Brewer, who are relatively new to the “country life”. Since leaving the city in 2011, the couple have lovingly transformed the 2.5 acre property into a tranquil oasis. A primary goal has been to restore the forested areas by removing invasive species. The vast expanse of lawn area has been slowly replaced with food gardens and drought tolerant landscaping.

Priscilla is a Certified Horticultural Technician, multi award-winning Landscape Designer, and avid, year-round, organic food gardener. She enthusiastically teaches hands-on, educational workshops with a strong focus on reducing our ecological footprints, promoting the use of native plants in the landscape, and growing food sustainably.

The Fern and Feather now sells a selection of garden fresh fruit and veggies, garlic, edible and native plants, fresh cut flowers and herbs, beautiful wildcrafts, and winter wreaths – plus naturally inspired original artwork, functional up-cycled furniture, home accessories and unique garden decor. The Fern and Feather is located on 3920 Yellow Point Road, and open every Sunday 10-4 (June to December), or by appointment.
