CGC Seeds-minCowichan Green Community is pleased to announce that we will host the 10th annual Duncan Seedy Sunday. On March 18th, 2018, this family- friendly event will be taking place at the Cowichan Tribes Si’em Lelum Gymnasium (5574 River Road, Duncan, BC).

An event for local gardeners to source locally grown seeds, garden starts, and perennials, this year featuring 43 vendors. This event will also feature activities for children and a series of gardening workshops. Admission is $2/person. CGC members and children under the age of 13 are free. There will be live music by Teo and delicious food from Depot Dawgs, Bite Me Cookie, Zed Squared Foods, Taco Revolution hot beverages as well as fry bread.

10:15am- Mason Bees with Eugene Fleck
11:15am- Ancient Grain Seeds with Dan Jason (Salt Spring Seeds)
12:15pm- Practical Permaculture with Joan Wynden (Garden Lore)
1:15pm- Seed Cleaning with Deb Cebula and Kat Brust (CGC Incubator Farm)

Duncan Seedy Sunday - Vendor Application Form - 2018

    The undersigned parties: the vendors and non-profit associations, hereinafter referred to as PARTICPANTS, and the Cowichan Green Community (CGC), hereinafter referred to as the SPONSOR, do agree as follows: 1. That the SPONSOR is in charge of organizing all the activities on Sunday, March 18, 2018. 2. All electrical requirements must be submitted at the time of application. Service is limited to low amperage; please note electrical hook up is limited. Access will be on a first come, first serve basis (based on date of registration). 3. PARTICIPANTS are responsible for organizing their booth including table coverings. Booth spaces are restricted to 8’ long by 4’ wide. If required, the SPONSOR can provide a limited number of tables. All table requests must be submitted at the time of application. 4. PARTICIPANTS will be assigned a booth location prior to the event. If there is space available after set-up is complete (after 10:00am) alternate locations may be available. The SPONSOR accepts the right to refuse any request. 5. PARTICIPANTS must have their booths completely set-up by 9:30am Sunday, March 18, 2018. The event starts at 10:00 AM. PARTICIPANTS will be able to access the Cowichan Tribes Gymnasium Si’em Lelum (5574 River Road, Duncan, BC) for set-up starting at 8:30am on Sunday, March 18, 2018. 6. PARTICIPANTS may not take down their booth prior to 2:00pm on Sunday, March 18, 2018, when the event officially ends. Failure to comply, may adversely affect participation in future events. 7. PARTICIPANTS shall procure at their own expense, the necessary insurance, provincial/municipal licenses, and all other permits as required for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this contract. 8. That the PARTICIPANTS release the SPONSOR from all liability of any and all bodily injury which may be sustained by the operator and all employees or workers. 9. Food Concessionaire PARTICIPANTS must prominently display their food booth permit, authorized by the Island Health Authority. 10. The PARTICIPANTS shall be aware that this is a zero-waste event; the SPONSOR will provide recycling and compost stations throughout the venue. 11. There will be no alcoholic beverages consumed, dispensed from, or sold from any booth operating during the event. 12. The PARTICIPANTS must not make use of “barkers” to solicit sales from the crowd. ALL sales must be from the PARTICIPANTS booth. 13. Deadline for all signed agreements and payment is Wednesday, March 12, 2018 at 4pm. 14. Any breech of the agreement herein set out may result in the forfeiture by the PARTICIPANTS of their right and privilege to attend this and future events held by the Sponsors.
