March Workshop Idea Example

We will be Upcycling recovered fabrics, marketing banners and even drop cloths into utilitarian gardening aprons that also have style!  Tool holders and pockets can be custom placed to work best with your tools!  All supplies are provided.  Some sewing machine skills would be helpful and the fabrics will be different from those shown.  For more information or to register please visit the Garden Pantry store, 360 Duncan Street or email leslie@cowichangreencommunity.org

Do you love to sew?  Would you like to help us with our in-house Upcycling Projects?

Well, we have a lovely volunteer position for you!  We are looking for people who would like to help us create the Upcycled products we sell in the store ( all monies go to support other CGC projects).  We do aprons from Men’s shirt’s, tea cosies, coffee press covers, canning jar sweaters from felted wool sweaters, t-bags (shopping bags) from t-shirts, garden totes and garden aprons from pants and banners…. to name a few of the projects we get up to.  We are a fun group, and as a sewing volunteer, you have lots of flexibility as to when and where you would like to sew.  All instructions are provided, so no worries there.

Do you love to engage with people?  Do you like to volunteer? Would you like to educate people on our various programs and initiatives?

We we have a great volunteer position for YOU!  We are looking for people who can enjoy helping and supporting our Local Showcase Vendors (please see Garden Pantry Store section on this website) and who would enjoy sharing knowledge about our many wonderful programs and initiatives and ultimately helping interested people connect with those programs or program managers.  We do all this in a retail environment, the Garden Pantry store, and the shifts range from 2 1/2 hours to 4 hours, 1 day a week (or more if you would like) and we are pretty flexible about the days.

For more information on Volunteering and Volunteer Sewing, please contact the store manager, leslie@cowichangreencommunity.org
