Become a Cowichan Green Community Member!
A recent survey showed that 92% of Members joined simply because they believe in CGC’s mission and share a concern in addressing food security in the Cowichan region. If you feel the same way and are looking to connect with the community, becoming a Member is an easy first step.
With every New Year, we tend to reflect back and work to improve on years past. As a non-profit society, CGC is presented with new financial challenges that our Staff and Board work hard to overcome.
Two of our goals for the year are to become financially self-sustaining and, of course, continue to provide an inclusive space that supports and engages the community to connect and grow local food. Our Membership Program has the potential to achieve both of these goals.
What does it mean to be a Member? Members of the Cowichan Green Community, make an annual financial contribution which helps support community programs that receive limited funding such as the KinPark Youth Urban Farm, FruitSave and administration of the Farmers’ Market Nutritional Coupon Program. In return, we offer benefits such as discounts on workshops or select events.
Membership is valid from January 1st to December 31st and costs $20 for Youth or Seniors, $30 for Individuals, $50 for a Family, or $100 for Businesses.
Your Membership gets you free access to select events such as Duncan Seedy Sunday, discounts on other events and educational workshops, an opportunity to vote at our Annual General Meeting in June, and a discount at our reFRESH Marketplace on 360 Duncan Street.
The added bonus is meeting other community-minded Members who grow and support local food!
With your support, we can continue to build a resilient, strong, and food-secure Cowichan!
