We are pleased to announce… CGC Foundation

CGC Society is happy to announce that CGC Foundation has (finally) received charitable tax status with the Canada Revenue Agency!

The CGC Foundation will be continuing the excellent work of CGC Society, and building upon it over time. We expect that many of the charitable activities offered by CGC Society will be transferred to CGC Foundation over the coming 12-18 months.  Those programs that are funded purely by community donations will transition at start of the fiscal year, January 1, 2017 while those programs and projects that are funded by contracts will not make the transition until new contracts are signed.

What does this mean?

  • This is a complicated transition and will take some time to be completed
  • Educational work will continue through the CGC Foundation
  • CGC Society will remain active for non charitable activities & advocacy

At the 2017 Donor Breakfast, there will be a full update on the transition of charitable activities from the CGC Society to the CGC Foundation. At that time the request for funds will be to support the CGC Foundation.

Meanwhile, CGC Society continues with its extensive community-based programming and services throughout the region. We hope that this change does not cause confusion or inconvenience to our many community supporters.

Best wishes for a bountiful 2017!
