This August, we are celebrating the CAT intern’s successful completion of the Organic Master Gardener course offered by Gaia College. It is definitely the most extensive and formal learning component of the training program. We are so proud of the team’s achievement! There were definitely some challenges in understanding the amazing and foundational interconnected processes underlying healthy farm, garden, and landscape ecosystems. Now we have a committed group of Micro-herd Nurturers (a bit of an inside reference ~ can you guess what it means?). Many thanks to the facilitation team from Gaia College who worked with our group! Your commitment to knowledge sharing is much appreciated.
Even more learning opportunities await as we head into the month of Lammas. David Polster will be with us teaching about different approaches to greening the farm. Jenny Horn will share introductory classes on farm animal care, which is timely as our interns have many questions arising from their past and/or recent experiences. Of course we all know that the more you learn, the more you realize how much more there is to learn! Our aim is that topics and themes that really grab the each participant’s interest can inspire some innovative learning projects over the winter.
If you are inspired by this pilot program and want to learn more about it, please get in touch! We would love to hear from you.
