Come out to learn about creative uses for invasive Yellow Flag Iris leaves, which were harvested in the Somenos Marsh. We will be weaving a simple round basket with the leaves of the iris, and brewing a natural dye pot using the yellow flag iris roots over the fire to dye silk. Janice MacKirdy is a student of natural dyes, and nature-based fibre arts, including basketry. Jan is also a gardener, landscaper, and has a wealth of knowledge about plants, and their traditional uses. Hannah is a homesteader, community organizer, and friend of plants.
Covid protocols in effect, more information available upon registration.
