Growing a resilient food future.

The Beverly Street Food Hub is a state-of-the-art, shared-use commercial kitchen and food warehousing facility designed to strengthen the local food economy in the Cowichan Region. Located in North Cowichan, BC, and operated by Cowichan Green Community, the Hub plays a pivotal role in supporting agri-food entrepreneurs—including farmers, processors, bakers, and caterers—by providing affordable, licensed access to high-quality food processing, storage, and distribution infrastructure.

As a proud member of the BC Food Hub Network, the Beverly Street Food Hub directly addresses regional gaps in food processing infrastructure and responds to the growing demand for economic innovation, sustainability, and supply chain resilience. By reducing the capital burden for emerging food businesses, the Hub fosters entrepreneurship, accelerates business growth, and drives investment into the Cowichan Valley—an area projected to experience 31% population growth by 2050.

Strategic Benefits for the Local and Regional Economy:

More than a facility—
a step toward local, sustainable food security.
  • Business Incubation & Scaling: The Hub eliminates the need for costly, individual investments in facilities and equipment, allowing food entrepreneurs to focus on innovation, product development, and scaling their operations.
  • Investment Attraction: By strengthening the region’s food production capacity and supporting value-added processing, the Hub increases the region’s attractiveness to investors, retailers, and distributors.
  • Economic Resilience: The infrastructure provides stability to the local food supply chain, enhancing community food security and sustainability.
  • Workforce Development: The Hub supports training and job creation in food processing, logistics, and distribution—key growth sectors in rural economic development.
