Free Family Preservation Workshops

Funded by Our Cowichan Communities Health Network (OCCHN), Cowichan Green Community (CGC) is hosting a series of FREE food preservation workshops geared toward young families. This project aims to teach or feature a variety of preservation techniques in workshop format from pickling, dehydration and freezing to hot water-bath and pressure canning. There are a variety of preservation workshops families can attend including sauerkraut, pickled beets, apple chutney and mincemeat! These workshops are specifically geared for children and caregivers to learn how to preserve fruit and vegetables and meat throughout the year.

These free workshops will be hosted at CGC, located at 360 Duncan Street in Duncan and will be facilitated by Debra Cebula. Let’s all learn the lost art of food preservation together!

For a list of our upcoming preservation workshops, please click here!

These workshops are FREE! Pre-registration for these workshops is required as spaces are limited. You can register for one of the classes at the Garden Pantry Store. Please contact Debra at 250-748-8506 or for more information and to register.
